The "Ueno Zoo Congestion Map," which had been undergoing system adjustments since February 11th, has been restored as of 4:00 PM on February 16th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.




Tokyo Zoological Park Society, will, based on an agreement with KDDI Corporation (*1), utilize 5G and AI cameras (*2) to display congestion information for various locations within Ueno Ueno Zoo via its official website, "Tokyo Zoo Net." "Ueno Zoo Congestion Map" We will begin offering this service.

(*1) "Basic Agreement on the Implementation of Businesses Utilizing 5G, etc."
This agreement, signed on November 25, 2020, aims to promote digital transformation through new technologies such as 5G (fifth-generation mobile communication system) and to further develop the Tokyo Metropolitan Zoo and Aquarium business, including recreation, environmental education, species conservation, and research (see [Reference] at the end).

(*2) This utilizes the "Anonymized Congestion Status Display" function of OPTiM AI Camera Lite provided by OPTiM Corporation.

By utilizing AI cameras that analyze camera footage installed throughout the park, we will provide congestion information at one-minute intervals for five areas where congestion is expected.
This will help visitors avoid crowds while enjoying their visit, and we will also use the crowd data to improve the safe and secure viewing environment at our park.

Congestion information is updated every minute, so you can check the situation at various locations within the park on Kawakawa before you go out, and even after you arrive.

2. Future initiatives utilizing 5G and other technologies

In addition to Ueno Ueno Zoo, other Tokyo Metropolitan zoos and aquariums (Tama Zoo, Inokashira Park Zoo, and Tokyo Sea Life Park) will also be working on projects utilizing 5G and other technologies based on this agreement.
