Regarding the decision on the release date of Xiaoxiao Leilei
Ueno Zoo is very pleased to be able to safely display the twin Giant Panda to the public.
At our zoo, we have implemented a 24-hour care and management system by animal keeper and veterinarians, and we have taken every precaution in preparation for the birth of the twins, although we were initially anxious. We are grateful that they have grown so well to date, thanks to their mother Shin Shin's devoted care, the advice from the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center and Adventure World, and the support from everyone.
Regarding viewing Xiaoxiao Leilei, we are considering a lottery system based on prior applications, taking into consideration the health of both mother and child. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but we ask for your understanding during this time.
We will continue to prioritize the health of the animals in our care and management so that many people can see Xiaoxiao and Leilei in good health. We would be grateful if you would continue to watch over Xiaoxiao and Leilei's growth.
