A video filmed on June 22, 2022, showing Giant Panda twins "Xiao Xiao" and "Lei Lei," born at Ueno Zoo on June 23, 2021, just before their first birthday, has been released on Tokyo Zoo Net YouTube channel. Please enjoy watching the two pandas growing up so healthily.

Prior to her birthday, on June 20th, we held a celebration for Xiao Xiao Lei Lei's first birthday. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, members of Giant Panda Name Selection Committee, and 14 children chosen by lottery attended, offering congratulatory messages and presenting Xiao Xiao Lei Lei with food.

As part of the celebration, we also held a workshop where the 14 children who attended made congratulatory message cards. They stamped on cards with Giant Panda faces and footprints, bamboo and bamboo shoots, and wrote their own messages, creating wonderful cards. Then, during the celebration, the children showed off their message cards.

Additionally, on June 18th and 19th, we held an event for visiting children called "Write a birthday message for Xiaoxiao and Leilei!" Over the two days, approximately 160 children created message cards to celebrate Xiaoxiao and Leilei's growth.

These message cards, along with those created for the "Xiaoxiao and Leilei's 1st Birthday Celebration," are on display on the railing of Aesop Bridge in West Garden until July 3, 2022. Please come and see the children's wonderful creations.
