This examination involved contrast-enhanced CT scans and other tests to check for changes in the condition of the uterine adenocarcinoma after administration of anticancer drugs, which began at the end of July. Unfortunately, the results showed that the uterine tumor had grown larger than before, and metastatic lesions were also found in the lungs and liver.
We will continue to monitor Toto's condition and conduct regular checkups. Since no particular side effects from the chemotherapy have been observed, we plan to continue administering it. We will manage Toto's care within the group, taking his mental state into consideration and monitoring his health. However, as he has experienced some weight loss, we are isolating him indoors and feeding him separately to ensure he eats more reliably than before.

As announced on September 8, 2025, Western Lowland Gorilla "Toto" had been exhibiting symptoms of abnormal genital bleeding for some time. Therefore, on September 17, 2025, hemostasis was performed under anesthesia, and at the same time, tissue was collected from the uterus for pathological examination.
The results revealed that she has uterine adenocarcinoma. Going forward, we will consult with the animal caretaker, our veterinarian, and external specialists to determine the appropriate course of treatment and proceed accordingly.
Depending on the situation, we may need to separate Toto from the group, but currently Toto is not showing any visibly serious symptoms such as an appetite or normal behavior, so we will continue to manage him within the group, taking into consideration Toto's own mental state.
