Sumatran Tiger "Mimpi" (photographed on June 6, 2025)
In late March 2025, when Mimpi and "Bran" (male, 12 years old) were placed together for breeding purposes, multiple matings were observed. Subsequently, from early June, changes in her body shape, such as a gradual swelling of her abdomen, were observed, and based on hormonal dynamics, it was determined that she was highly likely to be pregnant. However, considering the potential impact on the animals, ultrasound and X-ray examinations were not performed.

The gestation period for Sumatran Tiger is said to be around 103 days. Based on the mating confirmed in late March 2025, the birth is expected to occur around early July 2025.

To ensure a safe environment for Mimpi to raise her cubs, we may suspend all Sumatran Tiger exhibits for several days before and after the birth. We appreciate your understanding.
