The names have been decided for the two Common Wolf that arrived from Moscow Zoo on August 3rd of this year (2001).
From September 8th to 16th, we solicited name suggestions within the park. We prepared five name combinations and asked people to vote at designated locations. As a result, the male was named "Lobo" and the female was named "Moro"! Lobo is the name of the wolf that appears in Seton's "Lobo, King of Wolves," and Moro is the name of the wolf god that appears in the anime "Princess Mononoke."
From the 368 people who voted for "Robo and Moro," we have selected two representatives by lottery: Ryuichi Kashiwagi from Kanagawa Prefecture and Jinpachi Masuda from Saitama Prefecture. A naming ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 21st at 2:30 PM in front of the wolf enclosure in Asian Zone, with the two representatives in attendance.
