On Sunday, May 13, 2007, a baby Common Wolf wolf was born at Tama Zoo! As with last year, the birth and raising of the cubs are being carried out in a near-natural environment, so the number of cubs and their sexes cannot be confirmed at this time.
The mother wolf was observed digging a burrow before giving birth. Although we did not directly observe the birth, we determined that she gave birth the day before, as her belly had shrunk by Monday, May 14th. Currently, the wolf regularly changes its den, so you may be able to see the mother wolf carrying her pups in her mouth.
The mother is "Moro" (9 years old) and the father is "Lobo" (7 years old). Both were born at Moscow Zoo and arrived at Common Wolf on August 3, 2001. Excluding the newborn cub, there are six European wolves at Tama Zoo: three males and three females.
