Giraffe "Hikari" arrived safely today, November 24th. After she has adjusted to her new environment, she will be placed in the herd. Please note that she may not be available to view depending on the weather or the animal's health. Thank you for your understanding.

We are pleased to announce that a Giraffe giraffe named "Hikari" will be arriving at our zoo from Okinawa Children's Land (Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture).

Hikari was born on January 20, 2021, at Okinawa Children's Land.

This time, in accordance with Giraffe management plan of the Biodiversity Committee Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the giraffe will be moved in order to aim for new breeding opportunities.

We plan to visit the park around mid-November 2023. We will inform you again once we have moved.
