On July 2, 2008, a baby Chimpanzee was born at Tama Zoo! The baby is a male and has been named "Jin".

Her mother is Peach (born October 18, 1990, at Izu Shaboten Park), and her father is Lucky (born January 5, 1989, Tama Zoo).

Jin is Peach's firstborn. However, Peach was unable to raise her baby properly, so Jin is being cared for by animal keeper. At birth, Jin weighed 2,100 grams, significantly higher than the average of 1,500 grams. Now, he is over a month old and weighs 2,600 grams. He is growing well.

Going forward, we will prepare Jin for joining the group by having him "meet and greet" each individual in the herd. Please cheer for Jin to successfully join the group!

Tama Zoo has six male Chimpanzee, including Jin, and fifteen female chimpanzees.
