As previously announced in our post "
Animals continue to be moved in preparation for Giraffe enclosure renovation," we are pleased to announce that the relocation of the animals in Eurasian Moorhen area was completed on June 28th.
Going forward, it will be necessary to allow the animals to acclimate to their new environment, change the work procedures of the caretakers, and help the animals get used to their arrival time.
As part of this relocation, two Grevy's Zebra, one Scimitar-horned Oryx, and one ostrich have been moved to the former Przewalski's Horse horse enclosure (the enclosure above Nakayoshi Picnic Area Przewalski's Horse horses used to be), and seven Scimitar-horned Oryx have been moved to a corner of the Père David's deer enclosure.
To manage the animals scattered throughout the park, along with Giraffe and pelicans remaining in Eurasian Moorhen, the zookeepers
begin the process of bringing in the animals earlier than usual, starting with Scimitar-horned Oryx in a corner of the Père David's deer enclosure.
Please note that preparatory work is scheduled to begin in Eurasian Moorhen area, and keeper talk for Giraffe and pelicans that we have been holding will be suspended for the time being.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our visitors, and we appreciate your understanding.
