Tama Zoo had suspended Lion exhibit from March 9, 2017, in preparation for construction work to build a new Lion Bus terminal (see announcement here).

Following the reopening and continuation of Lion exhibit in a temporary enclosure (see announcement here), the temporary enclosure will be removed in order to construct a new enclosure. Consequently, Lion exhibit will be suspended for a while.

The new enclosure is scheduled to be completed in March 2020, but the exhibit will only reopen after Lion have had time to acclimate to it. We will inform you again once the reopening date has been decided.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our visitors, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Exhibition will be closed from Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
