Added on December 24, 2020:
We've decided on a name for our child. It's "Yuhi," taking one character from my mother's name.

A Giraffe calf was born at Tama Zoo on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

The mother is "Yurine" (born June 15, 2013 Tama Zoo), and the father is "Jill" (born May 22, 2013 at Saitama Children's Zoo, arrived at Tama Zoological Park on June 29, 2015). This is the 192nd litter born at Tama Zoo.

Upon reviewing the nighttime observation video, it was confirmed that the baby was born at 4:11 AM on the 25th. Approximately 30 minutes later, the baby stood up, and breastfeeding was observed immediately. The baby's head is about 170cm tall, and it has a sturdy build.

For a while, the mother and calf will stay together, gradually getting used to the group. On warm days, they are brought out to the small outdoor enclosure, so you can see them from a distance, but on cold days they stay indoors to prevent outside air from entering, so you cannot see them.
