Mother Sakura and her newborn son Hayate will be on public display from Friday, November 14, 2025. The viewing times are from approximately 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and the location is the outdoor enclosure of Chimpanzee house.
*Please note that the individuals in the group that are put out into the enclosure change daily, so we are unable to answer inquiries regarding the availability or schedule of parent-child exhibits after November 14th. Thank you for your understanding.

On September 30, 2025, Chimpanzee was born at Tama Zoo.

A contract to lease an animal for the purpose of breeding.
The aim is to transfer individuals between zoos to form new pairs and contribute to breeding.
Progress
Sakura, the mother, is experiencing her first pregnancy and childbirth, but immediately after giving birth, she picked up her pup and cared for it by licking it frequently. Currently, Sakura is calmly holding her pup, and the pup is clinging tightly to its mother's body. She has also been observed nursing the pup.
Currently, the parent and child are undergoing training to join a herd.
We will announce the release date as soon as it is decided.
