We are pleased to announce that Carolina, a female Cheetah, will be arriving at our zoo from Chiba City Zoological Park (Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture).
Carolina was born on June 8, 2021, at Chiba City Zoological Park. She is currently one year old.
Our zoo is working in cooperation with other zoos and aquariums to promote the breeding of Cheetah, which are endangered animals. This time, in accordance with Cheetah Breeding Plan of the Biodiversity Committee Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums Association of Zoos and Aquariums, we have decided to accept a cheetah to aim for the formation of a new pair and breeding.
I plan to visit the park on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza, the transfer was postponed, but it has now been decided that Carolina will arrive at the zoo on
Thursday, April 27, 2023. Carolina will be made available to the public after completing quarantine in the back area.
