On November 4, 2021, a pair of Amur Leopard Cat cats arrived at the zoo from Seoul Grand Park (South Korea).
Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Seoul Metropolitan Government established a sister city relationship in 1988, and have maintained friendly relations ever since, including the arrival of Amur Leopard Cat from Seoul Grand Park in 2000 and 2002 at our zoo. Amur Leopard Cat that has arrived this time was donated to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two zoos and to promote joint captive breeding of rare animals in Japan and Korea, as our zoo will celebrate its 80th anniversary next year.
The two cubs that arrived at the park were born at Seoul Grand Park: the male on April 14, 2020, and the female on April 30, 2020. Both are one year old.
The opening date will be announced on Inokashira Park Zoo official website as soon as it is decided.
