Giant Panda Pandas have large faces, soft bodies, and many other features that humans find "cute". However, when looking at wild animals, including pandas, the "cuteness" aspect alone does not easily lead to an understanding of their true form as wild animals and the value of their existence in the ecosystem, etc. At the Great Bear Cat Breeding Technical Committee held in Chengdu, Sichuan, China in 2019, "Giant Panda of The proposal was made to stop focusing on "cuteness" in publicity.
Since Leelee Shin Shin's arrival, Ueno Zoo has promoted various efforts for the conservation of Giant Panda. Information dissemination is one of them. We have been and will continue to actively communicate about Giant Panda and various animals, not only about their "cuteness" but also about the true appeal of wild animals and their current status in the wild.
We hope that you will find more than just the "cute" aspects of Giant Panda and share them with us. This will surely be a great help to preserve Giant Panda in the wild, which is in danger of extinction.
