1. Cultural Park Zodiac Stamp Rally

2016 is the Year of the Monkey. Inokashira Park Zoo has Rhesus Monkey. We have prepared fun questions related to the Year of the Monkey, focusing on Rhesus Monkey, and we look forward to seeing you. Explore the park and learn more about the animals!

　Date: December 19, 2015 (Saturday) - January 6, 2016 (Wednesday)
The rally sheets will be distributed at Main Gate of 　the zoo (main building).

2. Ryukyu Lion Dance by "Ryujin"

Unlike the lion dances of mainland Japan, the Ryukyu lion dance is different in both shape and size, inheriting the culture of Orient. Its powerful performance and expressive procession will captivate people of all ages.

　Date and Time: Saturday, January 2, 2016, 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM (approximately 20 minutes each session)
　The gazebo Main Gate in front of you as you enter the main gate.

Formed in 2001, after separating from a professional Eisa dance team in Okinawa, the group was founded by Kazuyuki Suzuki. They moved their base to Shizuoka, the "Land of Mount Fuji" and the heart of Japan, and are active both domestically and internationally. They have honed their skills in Okinawan folk performing arts, adding their own expression, philosophy, and interpretation as "Ryujin" (the god of Ryukyu) to create immersive stage performances.

3. New Year's Guide to the Zoo from director

director will give a guided tour of the park to celebrate the New Year.

4. New Year's Animal Fortune Slip

The animals at the zoo have been transformed into fortune-telling slips. Why not try your luck this year?

　Date and time: Saturday, January 2nd and Sunday, January 3rd, 2016, from 12:00 each day
　Location: Main Gate entrance
　Capacity: First 100 people each day

5. Guide to the Animals of the Chinese Zodiac

The keeper in charge of caring Rhesus Monkey will give keeper talk about Rhesus Monkey.

　Date and time: Saturday, January 2nd and Sunday, January 3rd, 2016, from 14:30 each day
　Location: In front of Rhesus Monkey enclosure

6. New Year's cards for animals

We are looking for original New Year's cards for animals from everyone.
The New Year's cards you send will be displayed within the park. If you include your name as the sender, we will also send replies to some of the winners by lottery.

Only submissions 　received by January 5th, 2016 (Tuesday) will be considered for posting and receiving a reply.
Please mail it as soon as possible.

30 people will be selected by lottery 　from those who respond.​
　Posting period: Until January 17, 2016 (Sunday)

• If posting is not permitted, please write "Not permitted for posting" next to the sender's name.
• If you do not require a reply, please write "No reply needed" next to your name.
• Even if an entry arrives within the submission deadline, we reserve the right to decide whether or not to display it.

7. New Year's cards from animals

Panels designed to resemble New Year's greeting cards from the animals will be displayed in the animal enclosures within the zoo.

8. Gifts from the gift shop

Customers who purchase items at the gift shop inside the park will receive a special "Zodiac Pin Badge" (not for sale) as a gift.

　Dates: January 2nd (Sat) and 3rd (Sun), 2016
Limited to the first 200 　people each day.

9. A gift of disposable hand warmers.

We will be giving away disposable hand warmers to all visitors.

　Location: Main Gate, Front Gate, Middle Gate
Limited to the first 500 　people each day.

10. Annual Crested Ibis

Customers presenting an annual pass at shops and restaurants in Tokyo Metropolitan Zoos and Aquariums (including ours) will receive a 5% discount on their purchases. (Some items are excluded.)
