Inokashira Park Zoo will be hosting an exhibition of works by artist Yuta Nishiura. Please enjoy his wood carvings, which capture landscapes and feature animals as motifs.

◎Concept of the work (from the artist)
Animals have always been a window to me that shows me sights I've never seen before, and a door that opens up my imagination to places and times I've never visited.
And what I create are fragments of the landscapes they took me to, and scenes from the stories they taught me.
【profile】Born in Yokohama in 1974.
1997: Studied Sculpture Project at Bagamoyo College of Art / Tanzania
Graduated from the Department of Chinese Ink Painting at the Oriental Art School in 2000.
2005: Dropped out of the specialized course at Hamburg University of the Arts (HFBK) / Germany
Since then, he has released works both domestically and internationally.

*What is "Art and the Zoo"?
At Inokashira Park Zoo, we have used a portion of Sculpture Museum to display works by various artists in special exhibitions. We chose this theme to reflect our intention to continue holding exhibitions that connect art and the zoo.
