We are planning to change the way Sumatran Tiger family is displayed (※The final day for the family display has been set for February 2nd).
└─2024/12/10 (Updated on 2025/01/16)
Updated on January 16, 2025:
After observing the situation of Sumatran Tiger "Mimpi" and her three cubs "Alona," "Abadi," and "Makumuru," we noticed that Mimpi was increasingly keeping her distance from her children. Therefore, we have decided to separate the mother and cubs' enclosures on Monday, February 3, 2025, when the zoo is closed. Consequently, Sunday, February 2 will be the last day that the mother and cubs will be exhibited together.

However, if we notice any changes in the parent-child relationship, we may change the exhibit method earlier than planned. We will continue to observe them carefully, and we ask for your understanding in such cases.

The following are past announcements.

The three cubs of Sumatran Tiger "Mimpi"—"Alona," "Abadi," and "Makumuru"—turned one year old on December 4, 2024, and their physical development and behavior are becoming more like that of adults.

Generally, tigers tend to leave their mothers around 1 to 1.5 years old, and while their mother, Mimpi, still seems concerned about her cubs, she has gradually started to show signs of distancing herself from them.

Currently, Mimpi and her children are on display in the same area, but in the future, we plan to display the parents and children in separate locations.

The timing of the change will be determined by observing the relationship between parent and child. Therefore, the change date is yet to be determined. We appreciate your understanding.
