Giant Panda "Xiang Xiang" (female), born at Ueno Zoo on June 12, 2017, was to be returned to China, which holds ownership, by December 31, 2022, according to an agreement between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the China Wildlife Conservation Association. We are pleased to announce that an agreement has now been reached with China regarding her return, as detailed below.

Around mid-February to early March 2023
