February 25 - April 12: Special Exhibition Sculpture Museum- Art and the Zoo Vol. 1 "Kotaro Isobe - Biotop: Places Where Living Things Live"

Inokashira Park Zoo will be hosting an exhibition of works by Japanese painter Kotaro Isobe. Even in seemingly empty grassy areas and under eaves, various creatures live, their presence often unnoticed. Please come and see his works, which vividly depict the world of these tiny creatures and express the beauty of the changing seasons.

*What is "Art and the Zoo"?
At Inokashira Park Zoo, we have used a portion of Sculpture Museum to display works by various artists as special exhibitions. We chose this theme to reflect our intention to continue holding exhibitions that connect art and the zoo.


◎Kotaro Isobe Profile
Born in 1970 in Kami-Ishigami, Nerima Ward, Tokyo.
Completed Master's program in Japanese Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School in 1997.
Participated as an assistant in the creation of the ceiling painting at Tenryu-ji Temple (painted by Matazo Kayama).
2003: Commemorative fan created for Yuki Nomura's (Mansai Nomura's eldest son) first stage performance.
I started creating a project themed around "Biotop".
