This is a female Giant Panda cub born on June 12, 2017. She is now over a month old. Yesterday, July 22, she underwent her sixth physical examination. We will share the results and her current condition.
The puppy began crawling on the floor using its front and hind legs around July 17th. In addition to simply crawling forward, it can also be observed changing direction.

The physical examination on July 22nd was conducted while the mother, Shin Shin, was away from her offspring eating (for 20 minutes, from 10:56 AM to 11:16 AM). The examination results were good. Its weight was 1,656.5 grams (1,147.8 grams on July 12th), and its length was 34.1 centimeters (29.5 centimeters on July 12th). Both of its eyes were also slightly open.
Meanwhile, the mother, Shin Shin, is diligently caring for her offspring, licking it, nursing it, and helping it defecate. When she is not tending to her offspring, she repeatedly rests and eats, but since around July 10th, she has been seen foraging and defecating a short distance away from it. During this time, the offspring remains calm and does not make any noise.
Mother Shin Shin is eating bamboo shoots, bamboo, bamboo grass, apples, carrots, and "panda dumplings," and is foraging well.
We will continue to monitor the mother and child 24 hours a day. Physical examinations will also continue, but the timing is yet to be determined.
